With over 50 years in the Millwork Business, Woodgrain continues to build on its
tradition of excellence as a market leader. What started as a small moulding mill
in the small town of Cedar City, Utah has now grown to a multi-million dollar business
with dozens of locations and over 5,000 associates. Woodgrain has grown to one
the largest Millwork Companies in the world. Woodgrain's vertical integration strategy
allows the company to bring high quality products to market competitively. With
aggressive growth, competent management, foresight and a passion for perfection,
Woodgrain continues on as an Industry leader.
History
Woodgrain began, and continues as a family owned and operated company. Merrill "Bud"
Dame started a small moulding company in Cedar City, Utah in 1954. He named his
business Dame Moulding and Lumber Company. In 1966 he built his first manufacturing
mill in Lakeview, Oregon from the ground up. As the company grew it continued to
expand. In 1970 Woodgrain moved its corporate offices to Fruitland Idaho where it
is located today. Bud retired and his sons took over the business and continued
to grow it. Currently, Reed Dame is the President and CEO and Kelly Dame is the
Executive Vice President. Currently, members of the third generation are also involved
in the company in various positions throughout the company.
